Lorene Marie SHIPLEY

Lorene Marie SHIPLEY, 72, of Douds, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Vistation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

A memorial fund has been established. Memorials and cards may be sent to 11833 Hickory Ave., Birmingham 52535.

Mrs. SHIPLEY was born July 30, 1939, in rural Douds, the daughter of Claude and Ella Mae LAUGHLIN FINDLAY. She married Harley R. "Bud" SHIPLEY July 9, 1955. He died in June 1987.

Mrs. SHIPLEY was a school bus driver for Van Buren Community School District for 16 years.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading.

Survivors include three children: Bill SHIPLEY and wife Jodie of Birmingham, Kathy SHIPLEY of Douds and Ken SHIPLEY and wife Bonita of Des Moines; two grandchildren; one sister: Irene NELSON of Milton; and one brother: Cliff FINDLAY of Moline, Ill.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Earl, Ronald and Hugh FINDLAY.
