Batavia rites for Ferne HILL

BATAVIA - Ferne HILL, 90, died Monday at 11:20 a.m. at Maple Leaf Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Batavia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Clayton and the Rev. Robert Connor officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia. Memorials have been established to Mrs. HILL's church and the Cancer Society.

Mrs. HILL was born May 21, 1893 in Jefferson County, the daugther of Riley and Katherine PEEBLER PARKER and had lived most of her life in Jefferson County. On Dec. 24, 1913, she married Roy HILL. He died in October, 1950.

Surviving are a son, Gerald HILL of Fairfield; a daughter, Barbara Jeanne MADDIX of Libertyville; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances HITE of Fairfield, Grace GOBEL of Enid, Okla., and one brother, Keith PARKER of Libertyville.
