MRS. SHEMANSKI FOUND DEAD IN DWELLING HERE

Aged Woman Had Been Out Feeding Chickens; Had Heart Attack

Mrs. Catherine (sic.) SHEMANSKI, 79, died suddenly from an attack of heart disease while alone in her home, 507 East Kirkwood Street, late Saturday afternoon. The body was discovered in the kitchen of the house at 5 p.m. Saturday by Frank BURKE, a son-in-law who lives nearby.

Mrs. SHEMANSKI was seen outdoors feeding her chickens about 4 p.m. Saturday. Inasmuch as the feed pan was lying by her side, it was believed that she suffered the fatal attack a few moments after stepping inside the door.

Mrs. SHEMANSKI was a native of Poland, but had lived in Jefferson county for the last 65 years of her life. Her husband, the late Peter SHEMANSKI passed away on May 1, 1933.

Surviving are four children: Mrs. Harry KENEDY (sic. KENNEDY) and Mrs. Frank BURKE of Fairfield; John SHEMANSKI, northeast of Fairfield, and Peter SHEMANSKI of Pleasant Plain. Also surviving are a sister and a brother, Mrs. Mary FENKI, Chicago, Ill., and John DRISH, Pleasant Plain.

Coroner C.C. Tallman said there will not be an inquest.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic church here in charge of Rev. Fr. E. F. Gaule. The body will be
placed in the receiving vault for the present.
