MRS. DORNFIELD DIED YESTERDAY

At Rockford, Ill., She Was a Sister of Mrs. W. J. GILBERT Here

Mrs. A. C. DORNFIELD, of Rockford, Ill., a former resident here and sister of Mrs. W. J. GILBERT of this city passed away yesterday morning at the Swedish-American hospital in that city after an illness of several month's duration.

Abbie PERRY, the youngest daughter of Jacob and Amanda PERRY (sic. Missouri Amanda GRUBB PERRY), was born near Fairfield, July 12, 1868. Her girlhood was spent in this vicinity where she attended the Fairfield schools and later taught for several years in the county schools.

She was united in marriage March 5, 1889, with James LOCKE. Their son, LeRoy D. LOCKE and granddaughter, Jane Elizabeth, of Rockford, and her husband, A. C. DORNFIELD whom she later married, survive her.

She has long been a member of the Methodist church and the Order of Eastern Star. For several years she acted as field secretary for the American Home Founding association, of Ottumwa. The sixteen counties of southern Iowa, which she visited, and her many friends will long remember her kind and loving disposition.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, Monday afternoon, at one-thirty and interment will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.

Note: The name used on the birth record of her son Leroy David Locke (born in 1893) was "Georgia Abigail Perry Locke".

Born July 12, 1868 and died on October 4, 1929.

Married to James Francis LOCKE on March 5, 1889. James Francis LOCKE (1859-1933) remarried and he and his second wife Nova Roxie WILSON LOCKE (1877-1901, she died giving childbirth) are buried in Dubois, WY. When she married A. C. DORNFIELD isn't known to this contributor, nor has any search of Ancestry records found when he died and is buried.

The name on the headstone at Evergreen cemetery, 2nd.002, is "Abbie PERRY". She is buried next to her mother, Missouri Amanda GRUBB PERRY (her father, Jacob PERRY, is buried in an unmarked grave at Bethesda cemetery in Jefferson county, Iowa).

MRS. DORNFIELD RITES YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT 1:30

Funeral services for Mrs. A. C. DORNFIELD, who died in Rockford, Ill., Friday morning, were held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 from the Methodist church here with Dr. U. S. Smith officiating.

Mrs. L. W. Van Nostrand and Miss Cora Ball sang the songs with Mrs. Frank Pierson accompanying on the piano. The pall bearers were: T. B. Short, Lincoln Stanford, Ray Crawford, D. A. Ricketts, Craig Pattison and George C. Woods. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
