BATAVIA - Mrs. Cecil H. NELSON, 67, Route 2, Batavia, died Friday at 12:15 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been ill for several weeks.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bladensburg Christian Church with the Rev. Leonard Sammons officiating. Interment will be in the Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Weston Behner Funeral Home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Martha I. NELSON was born Nov. 7, 1908 in Henderson County, Ill., the daughter of James and Elsie STUCK LIGGETT. She was married to Cecil H. NELSON June 11, 1935. She had lived for over 59 years in Jefferson and Wapello Counties. The NELSON farm home is three miles north of Batavia.
She was a member of the Bladensburg Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband; one son, A. Leon NELSON of Batavia; three grandsons; three brothers and two sisters, William LIGGETT of Packwood, Lloyd LIGGETT of Martinsburg, Theodore LIGGETT of Fairfield, Mrs. William NELSON of Cambridge, Ill., and Mrs. Lewis PEQUIGNOT of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
