HUFFMAN Rites Will Be Monday

John HUFFMAN, well known resident of the Packwood community, passed away about 3:20 Friday at the Jefferson county hospital, where he had been a patient the past week. He had been in failing health for the past 1 1/2 years and seriously ill the past week.

Last rites will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. E. K. Parrot in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

John HUFFMAN, 75, was born Oct. 23, 1885, near Abingdon, the son of Hiram and Alice CHRISTY HUFFMAN. He was married to Mable MOORE on May 5, 1909, at Ottumwa.

He had lived on his present farm three miles southeast of Packwood for 28 years, and had live in Jefferson county over 40 years. He had been engaged in farming most of his life.

Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Thelma SMITH, Libertyville; Hollis HUFFMAN, Libertyville; Mrs. Dorothy McCLEARY, Libertyville; Mrs. Wilda FERREL, Batavia; Donald HUFFMAN, Abingdon; and Keith HUFFMAN, Hedrick.

Other survivors include 18 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Frank RIZOR, Fairfield; Bert HUFFMAN, Batavia; Mrs. Clyde McCLURE, Eldon; Mrs. Orin THOMPSON, Bloomfield; William HUFFMAN, Eldon; and Mrs. Lillie LEPPER, Santa Ana, Calif.
