Pg. 2 Col. 3LOUISE WOELHAF DIED WEDNESDAY
(sic. the obituary used "WOELHAF" for the surname; it should be "WOELLHAF")
The funeral of little Louise WOELHAF who died Wednesday night at eleven o'clock at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. A. WOELHAF (sic. Charles Adolph "Otto" WOELLHAF and Hilma Josephine QUICK WOELLHAF) on West Washington street, was held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home. The last services were in charge of Rev. W. A. Wolegmuth pastor of the First Lutheran church.
A very large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends attened the services and an unusually large number of beautiful flowers testified as to the love and sympathy of hundreds of friends. The interrment (sic. interment) took place in Evergreen cemetery.
Gladys Louise WOELHAF was born in this city June 25th, 1903, and was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. WOELHAF. She attended the public schools and since early childhood has been a regular attendant at Sunday school of the First Lutheran church. She was also a member of the Junior League of the church. Of an unusually bright and happy disposition she was a favorite where ever she went.
She was taken suddenly ill Friday morning of last week and her condition became rapidly worse. Sunday is was determined that nothing short of a operation would save her life and on Monday she underwent an operation, but even that failed and after intense suffering she fell asleep Wednesday night to wake no more on this earth. The well nigh heart broken parents, two brothers Charles and Guy, and one sister Pauline, all of this city, survive.
* Transcribed for genealogy purposes. I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.
Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Old.P.108. Her name had been used in a previous Evergreen cemetery listing as "Louise Gladdis Woellhaf", but the death record uses "Gladys Louise". Only "Louise" is on her headstone inscription, however.
