LIBERTYVILLE - Merl "Bill" ALLISON, 82, of Libertyville, died at 9:22 p.m. Friday, March 1, 1996, at Parkview Care Center.
The service was at 1:30 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial was in Fell Cemetery at Libertyville. The family requests memorials to Jefferson County Heart Association, Senior Citizen Center, First Responders or the fire department at Libertyville.
ALLISON was born June 14, 1913, in Jefferson County, the son of John W. and Maggie Leoda POTTS ALLISON. On June 2, 1935, he married Edna Arlene HARRISON in Eldon. A resident of Jefferson County all of his life, he was a self-employed trucker who hauled rock, sand and lime. He was a member of Oddfellows Lodge in Libertyville, was a past president of the Libertyville School Board, served on the Libertyville Fire Department, and was one of the original supporters of Libertyville Little League, which he continued to help.
Surviving are his wife of Libertyville; three grandson, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Willa Mae HARRISON of Libertyville, Margaret COOKSEY of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gene; and three brothers, Deyo, Keith and Jack.
