Monday, 16 September 1985John PEEBLER rites Tuesday
BATAVIA -- John W. PEEBLER, 76, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson County Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Leland Grove officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville. Memorials have been established to PEEBLER's church and the Salvation Army. Visitation is open.
PEEBLER was born Oct. 8, 1908 in Wapello County, the son of John and Katy RODIBAUGH PEEBLER. He spent most of his life in the Batavia area, where he worked as a carpenter and cabinet builder. He was a member of Church of the Brethren at Libertyville. On Dec. 24, 1930 in Jefferson County, he married Pauline HANEY, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Alma Dell SHEARER of Weeping Water, Neb.; two sons, David E. of Libertyville, Paul A. of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three step grandchildren; four sisters, Wanda McNEIL of Fosston, Minn., Ellen THOMPSON of Baudette, Minn., Hazel ALLISON of Libertyville, Edith WHISLER of Fairfield. His parents, two infant children, one brother and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
