HUGH SCOTT

Hugh SCOTT (sic. Hugh William SCOTT), son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. SCOTT, passed away Saturday, February 28, at the Great Lakes Training station, Chicago, with septacomia (sic. not sure of spelling due to poor image quality of microfilm). He was born March 26, 1896 and made his home here until twelve years of age, when his family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri. His father, who was a member of the A.B SCOTT and Bon Grocery Co., which was located in the building formerly occupied by the Climax, passed away seven years ago.

He leaves to mourn his death, his mother, two brothers, Chester G. of Hutchinson, Kansas; Geo. K of San Diego, California and two sisters, Mrs. T.R. THOMAS of Seymour, Iowa and Mrs. J. R. KLOOS of Malcoln, Iowa.

The body arrived in the city last night. Funeral services were held today at 2:00 o'clock in charge of the American Legion at Mrs. MILLIKINS residence. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.

Note: Hugh's DOB and DOD have appeared in different sources that range from DOB of just 1896 to his DOD as either February 29, 1920 or March 3, 1920. This obituary provides the DOB as March 26, 1896 and DOD as February 28, 1920. Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield,Iowa. Old.P.165.
