Beverly Jean BENGE

Beverly Jean BENGE, 75, of rural Birmingham, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society or Southern Iowa Hospice may be mailed to the family at 18033 127th St., Birmingham 52535.

Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mrs. BENGE was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Peru, Ind., the daughter of Eldon and Eva HARSHMAN EGE. She married Ronald LaVerne BENGE April 18, 1959, at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds.

Mrs. BENGE grew up in Indiana and lived her married life in the Douds and Birmingham areas. She was a nurse's aide at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua for 23 years. She also worked at Walmart in Fairfield for seven years.

Mrs. BENGE was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She also had been a Pythian Sister and Rebekah and was a member of Douds Saddle Club. She and her husband had been co-presidents of the Van Buren County Pony Express group.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Deborah OSER and husband Carl GARRETT of Douds, Diana WHITMORE and husband Wayne of Edna, Texas, Kimberly BECKER of Cantril and Tena KELLER of Douds; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond EGE and Robert EGE, both of Peru, Ind., and Carolyn BURY of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Beverly Jean BENGE, 75, of rural Birmingham, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at home.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating.

Family visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
