Fanchon ABBEY rite Friday

Fanchon M. ABBEY, 84, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1989, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert P. Abbey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Suburban Heights Baptist Church and the Nelson Nursing Home Activity Fund.

Mrs. ABBEY was born Aug. 7, 1904, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Harry and Lola LOUTHER WILSON. She married Earl E. ABBEY June 19, 1920, in Fairfield. He died March 12, 1980. She was a retail sales clerk in downtown Fairfield, retiring from Spurgeon's in 1968. She was a member of Suburban Heights Baptist Church, a past president of VFW Auxiliary, and an avid bowler.

Surviving are two sons, Earl Junior of Fairfield, M. Bruce of Boone; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Elizabeth HOOTMAN of Cedar Rapids.

A son, Elmer, also preceded her in death.
