Flora Mae DeMENT

Flora Mae DeMENT, 93, of Douds, died at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Hospice in Keosauqua.

A service and burial will be in Paragould, Ark.

Memorials to Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Helping Hands may be mailed to 819 Country Lane Road, Keosauqua 52565.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds is assisting with local arrangements.

Mrs. DeMENT was born Feb. 23, 1918, in Paragould, Ark., the daughter of C. J. and Sarah Elizabeth CUPP. She married Patric Shaw DeMENT Dec. 11, 1948, in Greene County, Ark. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. DeMENT lived in Paragould, Ark., and in California before moving to Douds in 2009.

Survivors include six daughters, Iris DeMENT and Greg Brown of Douds, Faye WILLIAMS of Iowa City, Regina SOUTHARD and husband David of California, Loretta BRESLER and husband David of California, Zelda INGLE of California and Reba BEST and husband Chris of Hawaii; two sons, Patrick DeMENT and wife Katie in Arkansas and Glenn DeMENT and wife Helga in California; 39 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; six stepchildren; one brother; and two sisters.
