Daniel GARMOE (sic), aged 73 y., died at his home in Penn Twp. Aug. 9. Had been blind for about a year. Old settler of Jefferson County, having located here in 1848.

Note: His obituary uses GARMOE for a surname, but the correct spelling appears to be GAUMER; he appears in the 1850 and 1880 censuses and county death records under the GAUMER spelling. Buried in Antioch Cemetery.
