H. SCHMADAKA DIED YESTERDAY

Services Tomorrow at 2:30 from Home in Pleasant Plain

Henry W. SCHMADAKA, 87, passed away at his home in Pleasant Plain yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mr. SCHMADAKA, who is a veteran of the Civil War, has been in failing health for the past four years. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home at Pleasant Plain with burial in Evergreen cemetery.

He was born in Germany August 22, 1844 and has spent his entire married life in Jefferson county and has lived at Pleasant Plain for the last thirty-one years. Mr. and Mrs. SCHMADAKA celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary just recently.

Besides his wife he leaves the following children: Mrs. Dora L. THOMPSON, Mrs. George KIENTZ and Mrs. Harry BENNETT, all of Fairfield; Mrs. Dick SIEFKEN of Burlington, Mrs. Henry MANNHARDT of Brighton and Tillie SCHMADAKA at home.

Note: Mrs. Henry SCHMADAKA was Caroline KNERR, who died in 1940. They are buried in Lot 3rd.007. Henry's year of birth is 1843 on his gravestone, while the obituary gives the birth year as 1844.
