Died, at his home one half mile north of Abingdon, Aug. 18th, of rheumatism of the heart, Parkison (sic - Parkerson) LONGERBONE. Deceased was born in Ohio, in March, 1820, and married in 1846; removed to Iowa 24 years ago. He was an honored member of the Baptist church and a highly respected citizen. He leaves a widow and four children, all of whom are married and living near here.

Note: Wife was Lucinda GRIEST, who survived him by 11 years and died in 1900; they are buried in Abingdon Cemetery.
