PAUL E. MOWERY, FORMER ABINGDON RESIDENT, DIES.

Fremont, Ia.--Paul Eugene MOWERY, 82, retired Jefferson County farmer, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at his home in Fremont. Death was caused by aheart attack. Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Fremont Baptist Church in charge of the Rev. Wayne Corzatt. Burial will be in Abingdon cemetery.

MOWERY was born Oct. 24, 1881 in Jefferson County, the son of Franklin and Cora KIRBY MOWERY. Most of his life was spent in the Abingdon community. MOWERY was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers college. He was a past master and a past secretary of Abingdon Lodge No. 104, AF & AM, receiving a 50-year member certificate in 1954. He was also a member of the Mahaska chapter of the Order of Eastern Star at Fremont. MOWERY never married. He is survived by one brother, Earl MOWERY, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and one sister, Mrs. Carrie KREIGH, Fremont. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
