DEATH OF W. D. INGALLS

W. D. INGALLS, a well known farmer of Polk township, died at his home on Sunday last of typhoid fever. Mr. INGALLS was a brother of A. INGALLS who died in this city a few years ago, and had lived in this county nearly 20 years. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent husband and father. Mr. INGALLS was one of the most substantial farmers of his neighborhood. He was a prudent, careful business man, a kind neighbor, and an excellent citizen whose death will be greatly regretted by all of his acquaintances. His remains were interred at Abingdon Monday at two o'clock p.m., with Masonic honors. A large concourse of old friends and neighbors followed the body to its final resting place.

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: According to the 1880 census, his wife was Margaret A., who may have gone by the nickname of Patti (ref: the 1925 Iowa state census for their daughter Patti WHITE.)
