Funeral Friday For Mrs. COREY

Mrs. Jessie WILLIAMS COREY, long-time resident of Fairfield, passed away today at 12:10 a.m. at the Rest Haven Nursing home in Mt. Pleasant where she had been a patient for the past five years (note: in Henry Co., IA).

She had been in poor health the past six years.

Last rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home with Dr. J. Henry Teele officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Jessie WILLIAMS COREY, 88, was born March 16, 1871, at Albia, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Albia high school and Penn college at Oskaloosa. She attended the Illinois School of Nursing at Chicago from which she graduated in 1915. She served as a nurse in Fairfield for many years after establishing her home here.

She was united in marriage to Oscar R. COREY who preceded his wife in death on Dec. 26, 1926 (sic - Dec. 4, 1926).

Mrs. COREY was a member of the Methodist church. Chapter "C" PEO, and was a past matron and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews including Stewart C. GAUMER, former Fairfield resident who now resides at Meadow Brook, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Notice Is Hereby Given, that the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as exector of the estate of Jessie W. COREY, deceased, late of Jefferson County. All persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment and those having claims against the same will present them within legal time, duly authenticated, to the undersigned, for allowance and file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court. Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, this 21st day of Dec. 1959.
