B. KEMP dies at 89

Bessie M. KEMP, 89, 104 S. Court, died Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Parkview Care Center where she had resided since January.

Private services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Raymond Funeral Home.

Miss KEMP was born Nov. 11, 1889 near Stronghurst, Ill., the daughter of George Washington and Sarah FORT KEMP. The family moved to Bentonsport, Iowa, in 1909.

Miss Kemp came to Farifield in 1913, graduating from the Parsons College music conservatory. She employed (sic. was employed) as receptionist and assistant to Dr. J. Fred CLARKE. She also taught music in Fairfield and Eldon and worked in the offices of the county treasurer and county asscessor before her retirement.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is survived by one sister, Grace Ethyl KEMP, Fairfield, and a number of cousins.

Note: Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. 3rd.098. She and her sister, Grace Ethyl KEMP, share a single headstone and both are buried in the same plot as their parents.
