Andrew ANDERSON was born in Sweden, January 7th, 1851. He was baptized and confirmed and spent his childhood days in Sweden. He came to America with his parents in 1869. He resided first near Salina, Jefferson county, Iowa, and later spent three years in New York City, working as a carpenter. From there he went to Denver, Colo. While there he was married to Christina C. SWANSON of Jamestown, N. Y. on the 7th day of February, 1889. They resided in Denver that summer and then moved to the old homestead near Salina. They moved to Lockridge in 1913, and have resided here since then.
To this union was born two children, one dying in infancy, and Hildur, who died at the age of 14 years on March 4, 1907.
He was a member of the New Sweden Lutheran church until moving to Lockridge. He then joined the Trinity Lutheran church and has been a faithful member here until his death Oct. 29, 1934, at the age of 83 years and 10 months.
He met accidental death, being struck by an east-bound freight train which arrived here at 4:37 p.m.
He has no immediate survivors of his family to mourn his passing. A cousin, Mr. Frank ERICKSON, who lives south of Glendale, and a host of friends mourn his death. His wife preceded him in death February 2, 1933.
