"OLLIE. William C. Shy, well known farmer in the Ollie community, died at 11 a.m. Monday at the Keokuk County hospital in Sigourney. Last rites will be Thursday 2 p.m. at the Fremont Funeral Chapel; burial in the Blue Point Cemetery.
Born Jan 4 1878 on a farm south of Ollie where he spent his entire life; son of Henry and Sarah Turnbull Shy. He was a progressive farmer, breeder of black Angus cattle, and was active in school and community affairs. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Effie Kenyon, Packwood; one brother, Harry, of Ollie; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister."Fairfield Ledger
