"Wm. L. Bennett, who died in Black Hawk township on the 8th inst., was born in South Wales May 20 1836. At an early age he came to America with his parents and located in Pittsburg, Pa. Here he lived until 1877 when he came to this county. In his 20th year he united with the M.E. Church, and was a member in good standing at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Margaret Bedling in 1857; nine children, all now living. . . . .In the death of Brother Bennett the county has lost a good citizen, the church a faithful member, the wife and children a loving husband and father. . . . ."
