DEATH OF MRS. GREGG

On the 6th of May, at the residence of her son-in-law, A. A. HOLMES, near Batavia, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth GREGG, aged 80 years. Mrs. GREGG was born in Greene County, Pa., in the year 1804, was married to Andrew GREGG in her 18th year; moved to Belmont County, Ohio, from thence to Guernsey County, same state, where they resided until 1847, when they came to Jefferson County, Iowa, where she has since resided.... She was a woman of strong mind and more than ordinary intellect. She was the mother of Henry GREGG, Co. H, 30th Iowa, and Samuel W., Co. D, 19th Iowa, both of whom lost their lives in the late war. M.E.Church.... She was the mother of nine children, five of whom preceded her to the better land.
