"Celestia Whitacre, daughter of Cyrus C. and M. J. Turner, born in Ohio July 12 1854 and died at her home in Pleasant Plain, Iowa, Apr 19 1926 age 71-9-2. . . . .Apr 18 1877 married Benjamin Whitacre of Brighton. Two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle M. Pickard and Mrs. Helen E. Wolfe, both of Pleasant Plain.
She was the oldest of a family of six children, Mary Hoskins of Wright, Salome and Lida deceased, John Turner of Wright, Iowa, and Arnold of Ottumwa. These with three grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren are left to mourn. Her husband died Aug 8 1908. . . . .
(Death record shows she died in Penn Twp. 19 Apr 1926; bur. Friends Cemetery. Widowed. Born 12 July 1854 in Ohio, daughter of Cyrus Turner, born Vt., & Martha Massie, born Ohio.)"
