DEATH OF AN AGED MAN.

Emanuel GREENUP was born a slave in Monticello, Wayne County, Ky., in 1824. He was the father of nine children, two of whom survive him. In 1864 he was freed by Abraham Lincoln's emancipation proclamation, and shortly afterwards removed to Mt. Pleasant and from there to Lockridge Township, Jefferson County. In 1879 he came to Fairfield and resided here until his death, Friday morning, September 16th.... His remains were buried in the City Cemetery.
