Decatur County papers note the death of Alexander CALDWELL, a pioneer settler and merchant of Jefferson County. He resided here for 17 years after 1838. Mr. CALDWELL was 84 years old. He had lived in Decatur County since 1855, and for many years was the heaviest taxpayer in that county.
