DIED--At the City Hotel (sic - National Hotel) in this place, on Saturday, the 13th inst., of Congestive Chills, Dr. B. F. BETHEL, of Flushing, Belmont Co., Ohio, in the 37th year of his age. Dr. BETHEL was a brother-in-law of the late Dr. RAMAGE of this place and came west partly for the purpose of settling his estate, and partly with an idea of locating here himself. We deeply sympathize with his bereaved widow and mother, and may they be strengthened to bear with patience this afflictive dispensation of Providence. A few weeks ago we were called upon to record the death of a little son of Dr. BETHEL.... After a brief religious ceremony by Rev. D. N. Smith, his remains, on Sunday last, were followed to the grave by his weeping and bereaved widow and a large concourse of strangers. During his illness of several weeks, we believe every necessary attention was paid him.

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: Buried in Old Fairfield City Cemetery.
