The death of Lucy B. GOODALL occurred in South Pella, Iowa, March 7th. Her age was 81 years 2 months and 21 days. Mrs. GOODALL will be remembered by our old citizens as the landlady of the National Hotel, which stood on the north side of the park. That was forty years or more ago. Four daughters and one son were with her in her last moments, while two of her daughters were absent. Ed. R. NORVILL (sic - NORVELL) of this county is a nephew. Mrs. GOODALL was a mother in Israel, and always had the love and respect of her friends and acquaintances.

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: Lucy's maiden name was WINN. Her husband, William B. GOODALL, died in 1852 at age 46 and is buried in the Public Grounds section of Old Fairfield City Cemetery in Fairfield. Lucy is buried in Marion County, IA. In some sources her birth year can be found as 1809, however if one back-figures her age from her death date, it works out to 1811.
