Page 3, Column 2"Wm. McCRACKEN is dead. Well known resident of Jefferson County, born in a log cabin near Pleasant Plain July 26 1846. . . . .married Aug 12 1880 Miss Rebecca J. JONES of Keokuk County, one of his former pupils. Their lives were spent near Woolson. Mrs. McCRACKEN passed away a number of years ago leaving 10 children, among whom: Martin, Stacey, Pliny, Charles S., Dymond, Linneas, Mrs. Turza MEALEY, resident at Pleasant Plain. . . . .Burial will be at Richland."

McCRACKEN, born in Penn Township July 26 1846, made his home in this county all his life; married Rebeckah JONES of Keokuk County Aug 12 1880 and since lived on his farm near Woolson, where they lived until her death Mar. 4 1902, leaving 10 children. . . . .died Feb 12 1913 aged 66-6-18. Richland Cemetery."

Page 1, Column 3"Wm. McCRACKEN, one of the early residents of Jefferson County, died Thurs. (Feb. 13) at his home near Woolson. Quaker Church. Mr. McCRACKEN was born in a log cabin near Pleasant Plain July 26 1846. Grad. Whittier College at Salem. Teacher. Aug. 12 1880 married Miss Rebecca J. JONES of Keokuk County. Mrs. McCracken died a number of years ago, leaving ten children, among them are Martin, Stacey, Pliny, Charles S., Dymond, Linneus, Mrs. Tirza MEALEY, residing at East Pleasant Plain. Friends Church. Bur. Highland Cemetery at Richland."
