MRS. HELEN RATCLIFF ROLLINS
Helen RATCLIFF was born Nov. 3, 1860 (sic. her headstone engraved DOB year is 1862) at Fairfield, Ia., and passed away Aug. 29, 1927 at Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was married to R. W. ROLLINS (sic. Robert W. ROLLINS),Dec. 25, 1883. Her husband died in 1922. She has lived for the past twenty-three years in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Three children were born to this union, the eldest dying in infancy (sic. Helen Roberta ROLLINS, born and died 1885) and Robert a world war veteran, died during the war. Marjorie, the only surviving child, was her mother's companion and tenderly cared for her during her long illness. She is a sister of Bruce RATCLIFFE (sic. RATCLIFF) of this city and Mrs. Virgie RHOADS of Billings, Mont.
The body arrived in Fairfield Friday, September 2, and was taken to the Hoskins Funeral home where service were held at 4 p.m. conducted by Rev. Gilbert Voorhies.
Mrs. Frank PIERSON and Miss Ada LEWIS sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Face to Face." The following men served as pall bearers, J. W. DOLE, J. C. BLACKFORD, J. E. FLEMING, William LONG, Glenn PEEBLER and Leo THOMA. Internment (sic. interment) was made in Evergreen cemetery (sic. actually buried in Old Fairfield City Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa in Lot 199 West 1/2).
