"BIRMINGHAM, IOWA. John Wilson Lovedy, 85, passed away Mon. in the Van Buren Memorial Hospital. Burch Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery at Pleasant Plain. Born June 14 1879 in Severe County, Tenn., son of James Robert and Millie Elmore Lovedy. He married Katie Black in 1918 and she preceded him in death Dec. 20 1938. He is survived by three children: Leonard of Birmingham; Robert, Ft. Madison, and Mrs. Lillian Harrison of Keokuk; and four step-children: Raymond Collett, Williamsburg; Roy Black, Birmingham; Mrs. Peggy Ramsay, Birmingham; and Mrs. Sally Hootman of Vinton, also 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 10 step-grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur of Keosauqua and Charles of Blue Grass, and one sister, Mrs. Olive Tryon of Versailles, Ind. One sister is deceased. He lived in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties since 1905 and joined the Woolson Baptist Church early in life. He attended the blind school at Vinton for several years."
