"Jennie B. Jones, 91, died at 7:45 a.m. today at the Fairfield Convalescent Home. Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery at Pleasant Plain. Born Sept 21 1878 at Pleasant Plain, daughter of Alexander and Rhoda F. Groves Pickard. She was reared and educated in the Pleasant Plain community and was a graduate of the Pleasant Plain Academy where she also later taught. Jan. 1, 1914, married Millard L. Jones of Greensboro, N.C. They lived on a farm near Pleasant Plain until 1942 when they moved to Brighton. Still later they moved to Fairfield. She was a member of the Friends Church at Pleasant Plain; a charter member of the Gideon Sunday School Class; member of the PTA organization and WCTU, holding county offices in both. Survivors include two children, Lewis A. Jones, Belleville, Ill., and Mrs. Vernon B. Pettit, Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. O. E. Harken, Fairfield, and Mrs. Homer Brinton, Brighton; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband who died Aug. 2, 1953, one sister and a brother."
