"ANOTHER DEATH AT PLEASANT PLAIN. Elijah James, born in Hardin County, Ohio Nov 13 1834, died at his home in Pleasant Plain, Iowa, Mar. 28 1919 aged 84-2-15. He came to Iowa with his mother in 1846 and they first made their home in Henry County. In 1854 he married Miss Emily Nason, who died in 1896. Six children, one died in infancy. The remaining five sons are John W. of Hastings, Nebr.; Frank of Fairfield, Iowa; Charles of Brewster, Kan.; James of Minneapolis, Minn., and Oscar of Pleasant Plain, Iowa. He was subsequently married to Miss Mary Comegy of Des Moines, Iowa, who survives. Attended M. E. Church. Once was a Mason. Interment in the Pleasant Plain Cemetery. (Death record does not show names of parents.)
