"Harold H. Hoskins, 52, native of Fairfield and Parsons College graduate, died suddenly this morning at his home in Tama. Funeral Thurs. 1:30 p.m. and burial in the Oakhill Cemetery. Born July 22 1916 in Fairfield, son of Omar and Darle Green Hoskins; married Josephine Griswold and a veteran of WW2. Reared and educated in Fairfield, was a star athlete at both Fairfield High School from which he graduated 1934, and Parsons College, grad. 1938 and returned in 1963 to act as Homecoming Grand Marshal. Following graduation from college taught and coached at Tama and Anthon, Iowa, and was football coach and athletic director at the Estherville, Iowa Jr. College for some time. In more recent years was in real estate and insurance business in Tama. Survived by wife and three children: two sons, Tim and Tom, and a daughter Tobi Sue; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Omar Hoskins, and a stepbrother, Robert Engstrand, all of Fairfield. Preceded in death by his mother who died in 1940; a sister, Mrs. Darlene McDonald, who died in 1962; and a brother who died in infancy."
