"BRIGHTON WOMAN DIES AT HOME EARLY TODAY (Dec. 2). Mrs. S. M. Grove (Minnie Bell Cox), 81, resident of Brighton for the past 25 years, died suddenly at her home at the south edge of Brighton this morning. Omar Hoskins Funeral Home. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Pleasant Plain (Ledger, Dec. 3). Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Cox, born in Stanton, Va. Sept 23 1868; married Smith Grove of Stanton Jan. 2 1885, later removing with her husband to South English. Moves took them to Minnesota for a short time, back to South English, to Pleasant Plain, and finally to Brighton. She and Mr. Grove would have observed their 55th wedding anniversary next Jan. 2. Survived by husband, three sons, Paul, St. Paul, Minn.; Lynn, Iowa Falls; Phillip, New Rock, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Jere Elmore, near Pleasant Plain, and five grandchildren. One son, Basil, died when a small child. Mrs. Grove was a member of the Methodist Church."
