Charles EDLER Dies At Home

Charles W. EDLER, 68, retired railroad employe, died about 4 a.m. today at his home on rural route 4 west of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Charles W. EDLER was born Jan. 14, 1899, in Walnut Township in Jefferson County. He was the son of William P. and Nettie WELLMAN EDLER. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County.

On June 1, 1920, he was married to Jennie HAVNER with the wedding taking place in Fairfield. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way and a retired C.B.&Q. Railroad section employe.

EDLER is survived by his wife and the following children: four daughters, Mrs. Clarence KEEN, Ottumwa; Mrs. Alvey COOK, Davenport; Wanda Mae EDLER, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Carl JACKSON, Burlington; and two sons, Lester, Davenport; and Rex, Ottumwa.

Other survivors include 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Lloyd EDLER, Marion, Iowa; and a half-sister, Mrs. Laura KNAUS, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, six brothers and sisters, two grandchildren and a half-sister.
