Burl DAVISSON, 59, life-time resident of Jefferson county, died Christmas Eve about 9:10 p.m. at the
Jefferson County hospital where he had been a patient for the past seven weeks. He had been in failing health the past six months.Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. D.O. VanDyne in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Burl DAVISSON was born March 26, 1906, in Jefferson county, the son of Guy and Mary PIERSON DAVISSON. He was married to Hazel EVANS on Dec. 16, 1925. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist church. The family home is located at 507 W. Briggs. He was employed as a bridge foreman for Jefferson county for several years.
DAVISSON is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma SHULTZ, Fairfield; two sons, Darrell and Eugene DAVISSON, both of Fairfield; Eight grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Guy DAVISSON, Libertyville; two brothers, Orville DAVISSON, Fairfield, and Walter DAVISSON, Fairfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn OVERTURF, Libertyville, and Gladys SCHIMMELPFENNIG, Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.
