"Everett COFFIN, 91, lifetime resident of Jefferson County, died Sunday at the Fairfield Convalescent Home after an illness of three weeks.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Plain Friends Church in charge of Rev. Wade Dillavou. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery. The body is at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.
A retired farmer, COFFIN's home was in the Pleasant Plain area. He was born May 1, 1878 in Pleasant Plain, son of Henry and Avis SMITH COFFIN. He was a member of the Friends Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and elder for many years.
COFFIN was married Feb 22 1899 to Cora WATERS; she died May 4, 1911. He was married to Elvira Alice Jones March 16, 1915. She preceded her husband in death Oct 16, 1953.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Edith PENCIL, Washington; Mrs. Bertha REINECKE, Terrerro, N. Mex.; Mrs. Mabel IRVING, Elmhurst, Ill.; Earl COFFIN, Fairfield; Glenn COFFIN, Boise, Ida.; and Mrs. Mildred MENDENHALL, Fairfield.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle ARNDT, Emporia, Kan.; and Mrs. Elsie ELMORE, Prescott, Ariz.
One son, one grandson, three brothers and two sisters are deceased."
