Anna Z. BOOTH,, daughter of Isaac and Susanna BOOTH, was born in Jefferson County, Iowa on the 27th day of January 1866 and passed to her eternal reward on March 21st, 1931.
Her parents came to Iowa in 1861 and located in Jefferson county in 1863 where they remained during the remainder of their lives, both having preceded her in death.
She was united in marriage with Edward A. BATES on the 17th of December 1889 and to them were born two sons: Harley W. and Clifford F., both of whom with the husband and the five grandchildren survive the deceased.
In early life she united with the Methodist Episcopal church in the country community and was a faithful member until recently she and the husband transferred their membership to this church.
A very sad phase of this tragic experience is that the husband lies very critically ill in Jefferson county hospital and cannot attend these last sacred rites.
Her illness was brief. Following a slight cold pneumonia developed and she quickly passed away.
She was a good woman, a faithful wife, a kind mother, thoughtful neighbor and a devout Christian and will be missed by all who knew her.
