"Aaron Burgess, for many years a resident of Pleasant Plain, died Mon. Jan. 24 of pnuemonia at the Jefferson County Home where he had been taken four years ago. He was born in Ohio Apr 26 1844, being 71-8-28 at death. Mr. Burgess had run a blacksmith shop in Pleasant Plain for 25 or 30 years and was a character in that village until failing health caused his removal to the county farm. Wife died many years ago. Funeral services are being held at Pleasant Plain at 1 o'clock this Friday afternoon."
