RANKIN, Neva M. -- Neva M. RANKIN, 94, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Keosauqua, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

RANKIN, Neva M. -- Neva M. RANKIN, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

A service was held this morning at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews (lower case sic) officiating. Burial was in Center Chapel Cemetery southeast of Keosauqua.

Memorials to Park Place Care Center in Mount Pleasant or Center Chapel Cemetery may be mailed to the family at 19 W. Garden Walk, St. Peters, MO 63376.

Ms. RANKIN was born Feb. 18, 1916, southeast of Keosauqua near Center Chapel, the daughter of Paul M. and Gail GORDON RANKIN.

Ms. RANKIN graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1933. She graduated from Burlington Beauty School and owned her own beauty shop in Keosauqua for several years. In 1942, she went to work for the office of price administration during World War II. She then worked for Skelgas Dealers and Skelly Oil Co. in Marshalltown, Waterloo and Clear Lake for 30 years before retiring in 1978. She then moved to New London. In 1995, she moved to Keosauqua before moving to Park Place Care Center in Mount Pleasant in December 2009.

Ms. RANKIN belonged to Keosauqua United Methodist Church.

Ms. RANKIN was an Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include two nephews and three nieces, including Linda GOLDSTEIN of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Vinton "Pappy" RANKIN.
