FITZSIMMONS, Charles Jr. -- Charles FITZSIMMONS Jr., 73, of Libertyville, died this morning, Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

FITZSIMMONS, Charles Jr. -- Charles FITZSIMMONS Jr., 73, of Libertyville, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stephen C. Page officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. FITZSIMMONS was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Ottumwa, the son of Charles and B. Kathleen UTTERBACK FITZSIMMONS Sr. He married Agnes Elaine WADDLE Jan. 31, 1959, in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death.

Mr. FITZSIMMONS had lived in the Libertyville area for the last 43 years. He attended school in Eldon. He worked for Creek Oil in Libertyville and retired from Rockwell-Standard, where he was a member of the I.A.M. Union, after 30 years.

Mr. FITZSIMMONS was a member of the Fell Cemetery board, and he was a volunteer fireman for Libertyville.

He enjoyed displaying Christmas lights, hunting and baking cookies, fudge and cakes.

Survivors include five children, Marvin FITZSIMMONS of Libertyville, Philip FITZSIMMONS and wife Karla of Birmingham, Diana HAYNES and husband LeRoy of Libertyville, Susan BOOTH of Batavia and Jeffrey FITZSIMMONS and wife Traci of Ollie; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, Etta Mae EVANS of Eddyville, George FITZSIMMONS of Floris, Delorris LANMAN of Floris, Kenneth FITZSIMMONS of Agency, Beverly ROBERTS of Eldon, Drucilla CHICKERING of Agency and Richard FITZSIMMONS of Eldon.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert FITZSIMMONS Sr.; and one great-grandson.
