SALTS, Earl F. -- Earl F. SALTS, a life-time resident of the Fairfield community, passed away about 8:45 a.m. this morning at the Jefferson county hospital.

He had been a patient at ths hospital for the past 12 days and in failing health for the past five years.

SALTS was an employee at Iowa Malleable Iron company for over 20 years until his health caused him to retire five years ago.

Earl F. SALTS, 53, was born December 12, 1903, in Jefferson county, the son of the late James O. and Ella Jane HOLMES SALTS.

He was united in marriage on Nov. 27, 1924, to Alta BRYAN who survives. The wedding took place in Ottumwa.

In addition to his wife, Mr. SALTS is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. John GORMAN, Fairfield; two grandchildren; and the following four brothers: Forrest SALTS, Covina, Calif.; Stanley SALTS, Ralph H. SALTS and Clifford SALTS, all of Fairfield. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. William BOYER, Washington, Iowa.

The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home where last rites are pending.
