From the Castle Rock Journal, Weds., July 24, 1895

Peter Palm was born near the city of Kalmar in Sweden on the 11th day of September, 1825. In May, 1847, he came to the United States and on the 31st day of July 1847 he settled upon a farm in Jefferson County, Iowa, where he resided continuously for a period of 41 years, and where all of his children were born. He was united in matrimony to Mary C. Anderson on January 17th, 1854, in the city of Fairfield, Iowa, and six children were the issue of this marriage as follows: Edward A., Charles J., Mary Elizabeth, Ellen, Robert E., and Matilda C., four of whom are now living, Ellen having died in infancy on September 16, 1862, and Elizabeth on July 24th, 1887, at the age of 28 years. In April 1888 he came to Douglas County, Colorado, to spend the remainder of his days with his children, having resided in Castle Rock during the last seven years. He died near the town of Victor in Fremont County, Colorado, at 12 o'clock noon on Monday, July 15th, 1895, at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 4 days, leaving surviving him his wife and four children.
