NIXON, Paula E. -- Paula E. NIXON, 62, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, July 9, 2010, from complications of breast cancer at Halcyon House Care Center in Washington.

No service is planned at this time. Mrs. NIXON's body has been cremated.

Mrs. NIXON was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Elmer and Marian HORN PHILLIPS. She graduated from Fairfield High School. She worked for Metro Mail for four years, Perfex Inc. for 12 years and United Presbyterian Home for 12 years.

Mrs. NIXON enjoyed collecting old coins, new state coins and pictures of movie stars and reading romance novels. She loved cats.

Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Jean NIXON of New London and Michelle Eileen NIXON of Waterloo; her father, Elmer PHILLIPS; her mother, Marian HORN; one sister, Pamela JACKSON of Washington, Iowa; two brothers, Gary PHILLIPS of Selma and Alan BOESE of Lockridge; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dale BOESE, and her grandparents.
