Monday rite for Ruth COFFIN

Ruth I. COFFIN of Davenport, formerly of the Fairfield area, died June 8, 1989, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport (note: in Scott Co., IA). She was 79.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born July 10, 1909, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Jasper and Birtie FRANZ COFFIN. She had been a teacher all her working life, teaching in Iowa and Oregon before retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include two sisters, Katherine JOHNSON of Moline, Ill., and Lucile KOCH of Winfield; two brothers, Howard of Donnellson and Raymond of Keosauqua; and several nieces and nephews.

Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport.
