Raymond C. SPIELMAN, 79, 306 E. Monroe, died Wednesday at 1:55 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health for a year and seriously ill for the past three weeks.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Wilson Hyde. Masonic rites will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
SPIELMAN, a retired employee of the Louden Machinery Co., had been a resident of Fairfield for 33 years. He was born Sept. 4, 1890 at Merrimac, the son of Henry E. and Marietta KIENTZ SPIELMAN. He was married July 27, 1919 to Bertha WOODWORTH.
Surviving are his widow and three children: Mrs. C.G. BROSSEIT, Des Plaines, Ill.; Col. Harvey SPIELMAN, Alexandria, Va.; and John SPIELMAN, Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are six grand-children, one great grandchild and one sister, Mrs. E.U. PEASLEY, Fairfield. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
SPIELMAN was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Clinton Lodge No. 15, AF&AM.
