ZAHN, Jo Ann -- Jo Ann ZAHN, 77, of Ottumwa, formerly of Fairfield, died at 1:56 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
Arrangements are pending at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa.

ZAHN, Jo Ann -- Jo Ann ZAHN, 77, of Ottumwa, died at 1:56 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Phil Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation began at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. ZAHN was born July 6, 1932, in Lucerne, Mo., the daughter of William and Ethel SMITH CANAAN. She married Stephen ZAHN Aug. 3, 1958.
Mrs. ZAHN was a 1950 graduate of Unionville High School in Missouri. She later attendee Chillicothe Business School in Chillicothe, Mo., and went to work at Louden Machinery in Fairfield. For many years, she and her husband lived in Fairfield, where they owned The Shoe Den and Northside Bootery. Mrs. ZAHN was employed 15 years as office manager at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. She and her husband owned and operated motels in several locations and retired in Ottumwa in 1992.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Pam of Minnesota, Lori of Ottumwa and Lisa of Des Moines; three grandsons; and four sisters, Betty Jane HAYES of Wilton, Mary Lou CRAFT of Fairfield, Donna HUNTER of Unionville, Mo., and Wanda FOWLER of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Jimmy; and one brother, Bill CANAAN.
