JARMES, Marjorie Ellen -- Marjorie E. JARMES, 77, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at her home.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to the family in lieu of flowers. Cards and memorials may be sent to 200 N. 28th St., Lot 14, Fairfield 52556.
Mrs. JARMES was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Birmingham, daughter of Walter and Bertha PICKEREL CRAFTON. She married Glen J. JARMES Dec. 12, 1975. He died June 10, 1984.
Mrs. JARMES lived most of her life in Jefferson County.
She was a member of Suburban Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to being a wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. JARMES enjoyed listening to gospel music, reading her Bible and was a gifted cook and pie baker.
Survivors include one daughter, Denise SNOOK of Fairfield; four siblings, Leonard CRAFTON of Birmingham, Idora CRAFTON of Keosauqua, Mildred BROWN of Cedar Rapids and Marilyn RETTIG of Weaver; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Roy CRAFTON, Bob CRAFTON, Kenneth CRAFTON, Paul CRAFTON and Joan JONES; one daughter, Glenda COOK; one son, Michael CRAFTON; and one grandson.
